Proposed Programs:

More details are on their way but below are just a few of the proposed services CCGuild plans to offer upon restoration.
We are always looking for new ideas and are in the process of creating partnerships with other local non-profits to foster incredible memories and create inspiring stories for generations to come.

Pirate Parties

These unforgettable, only once in a lifetime parties are geared towards terminally and seriously ill youngsters and at risk children from ages 4 to 11.  The party celebrant and his/her guests join Captain Hook, Tinkerbell, Peter Pan and all the rest in costumed fun.  Guests are required to sign the pirate's oath, then they are treated to pirate party games and prizes, party favors, face painting, balloons, souvenir photos, pirate sea chantey songs and of course, a pirate meal complete with cake.  The celebrant will be given a complete Brigantine Sultana Pirate Ensemble

Pirate Captain's Treasure Chest Program (Class/Group Sailing/Educational Excursion)New Pirate

Designed for Grades 4-8 (Ages 9-13) this is a 3 to 4 hour sailing excursion with a theme (aboard the Brigantine Sultana) that takes new participants, "green hands" and introduces them to sailing and ship board life, to teamwork and cooperation and problem solving in completing a totally new set of tasks. It is really a lot of fun (largely because of the uniqueness of the theme) and it is this aspect of "fun" that allows the program to deliver a heady educational and instructional content "on the sly" to the participants.

A Certification of "Apprentice Seaman" is affixed to each participant's Brigantine Sultana Pirate Passport and each is invited to participate in the Sultana Junior Sailing Society.

Pirate Tall Ship Day Sail

This is the next step for the cadet and is a full day sailing program that represents a concentrated experience in team building and the development of self-esteem and self worth for cadets aged 13 to 18 years.

Cadets (Apprentice Seamen) will perfect various ship-board and sailing tasks and will be exposed to educational instruction in history, the physics of sailing, navigation and oceanography.  Most importantly, they will learn the value of cooperation and develop a sense of "esprit de corps" as they actually sail the ship.

Once again a Certificate of "Regular Seaman" is affixed to each participant's Pirate Passport and each is encouraged to join the Sultana Junior Sailing Society (if they haven't already).

Pirate Tall Ship Voyage

This program takes cadets from ages 16 to 19 who have attained the status of "Regular Seaman" and turns them into "Brigantine Sultana Deep Sea Sailors" or Sultana Crew.  It is a three (3) day, two (2) night voyage where the cadets take full charge of the Ship's course and speed and represents the ultimate test and demonstration of their skills in attentiveness, problem solving and leadership.  As in all our programs, formal instruction in classroom subjects is combined and linked to the Tall Ship experience.  Graduates join the ranks of "Brigantine Sultana Deep Sea Sailors" and become trainers and mentors for younger participants.

Sultana Junior Sailing Society

This is the venue and medium for continuity between sailing programs and for reinforcing the lessons learned.  The Society hosts monthly meetings; events and work parties for members to join (participants and cadets from the Pirate Treasure Chest, Day Sail and Tall Ship Voyage Programs) and provides much needed socialization and continued mentor-member contact.

Brigantine Sultana Deep Sea Sailors (Sultana Crew)

It is these folks who embody what our Sailing Programs strive to achieve. These young adults (who were once "green hands" themselves) become young adult mentors and teachers in their own right - ready and willing to pass on the moral and technical lessons and experiences they once learned.

These folks will take the lead in sailing and maintaining the ship (on a rotating basis as their school or work schedules allow) and will host "green hands and cadets" as they  join and participate in our various sailing programs.

Brigantine Sultana Staff (Adult Mentors)

These are the folks who keep the larger picture of our mission for young people in mind.  They are the members of the Sultana Sailing Society.  Volunteers help fill the gaps.  These folks serve as mentors, role models and teachers for the young adults graduating our programs and the younger folks just starting out
